Little sister Michele Edith of Jesus passed away on the night of June 21st, 2020
We have just learned of the death of little sister Michele Edith of Jesus during the night of June 21st, 2020, at the nursing home in Baltimore where she was being cared for. Many of us knew her because she lived several years in Israel after nearly 20 years spent in Australia among the Aboriginal People. In 2013 she left Israel and returned to the USA because of Alzheimer’s disease.
Sr Michele Edith wrote in a letter of Dec. 2013: “What that (Alzheimer’s) feels like is ‘a path of littleness’... trying to simply accept fits in as if it was a form of the ‘prayer of abandonment.’ We entrust Michele Edith to the love of God who said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit ... the meek … The Kingdom of Heaven is theirs... they shall inherit the earth.”
We thank the lord for what Sr Michele Edith had been for those who knew her, for her Sisters and for the Church, particularly the Church of the Holy Land.
