Eve of the Day of Independence: Israel’s population
Before the Day of Independence, the Central Bureau of Statistics publishes the population data for the State of Israel.

The Jewish population is estimated at 6.377 million residents (74.8% of the population), the Arab population is estimated at 1.771 million residents (20.8% of the population) and those defined as other (non-Arab Christians, members of other religions or those who are unidentified according to religious affiliation in the population census) are estimated at 374 thousand residents (4.4% of the population).
Since Independence Day in 2015, 195 thousand babies were born and 47 thousand people died. 36 thousand people immigrated to the State of Israel.
