On January 24, 2013, the Armenian Fraternity of Saint James elected the 97th Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem Nourhan Manougian.

The 33 members of the Fraternity chose Archbishop Manougian from the five candidates presented. The new Patriarch was born in Aleppo, Syria in 1948. He was ordained a priest in 1971 and a bishop in 1999. He succeeds the recently deceased Patriarch Torkom II Manougian.
We wish the new Patriarch every blessing on his election and on his mission!
