Advent Retreat of Jaffo Kehila

The members of Jaffa Kehila participated in their Advent retreat, on Friday, December 12th, in Tiberias. One of the members reports about this event.

On Friday, December 12, 2012, members of the Jaffa community gathered with Fr. Apolinary at Casa Nova in Tiberias for a special Advent retreat in preparation for Christmas.

We began the evening by sharing home-cooked dishes, each reflecting family traditions, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. The retreat opened with joy and prayer as we read the Gospel, reflected deeply on the Word of the Lord, and strengthened one another in faith and in the knowledge of God’s love.

Our hearts were open before God and each other, and we were filled with hope and joy in Christ.

To crown this beautiful experience, we were invited to attend a Mass of Deacon Ordination, where Daniel and František were ordained by Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa. The excitement and joy were overwhelming! After the celebration, we joined a festive meal, enjoying fellowship to the fullest.

We returned home late Saturday night, hearts strengthened, spirits uplifted, and grateful for the grace we received.

Thank you, Fr. Apolinary, for dedicating this special time to us. May the Messiah be born in our hearts and continue to grow within us! Amen.
