Discovering the Meaning of Hoshanah Rabbah at Jerusalem Community

On October 1, around 50 participants gathered at the House of Saints Simeon and Anne in Jerusalem for an evening dedicated to learning about the Jewish festival cycle and the significance of Hoshanah Rabbah. The event was organized by the St. James Institute for Jewish and Christian Education and hosted by the Jerusalem Community.

Fr. Piotr Żelazko welcomed the participants and recalled the mission of the St. James Institute for Jewish and Christian Education to foster knowledge and dialogue between Jews and Christians. Fr. Benny then invited everyone to the sukkah for a short time of refreshment and fellowship before the lecture.

The highlight of the evening was a talk by Rabbi Oded Peles, who guided participants through the spiritual journey from Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur to Sukkot, explaining the rich traditions and meaning of Hoshanah Rabbah. His presentation offered valuable insights into Jewish faith and practice, helping participants deepen their understanding of the religious and cultural context in which the Church in Israel lives.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Jerusalem Community for their warm hospitality and for hosting this enriching evening of learning and encounter.
