Public Screening of the Documentary "The Bitter Way"
The audience included members of the local communities, friends, Jews and Christians, as well as young people who appear in the film.
Among the invited guests were H.E. Msgr. Giorgio Lingua, Apostolic Nuncio to Israel; Fr. Francesco Ielpo, Custos of the Holy Land; Bishop William Shomali; and Rabbi David Rosen.
The director of the documentary, Stéphane Amar of the French television network KTO, was present and addressed the audience.
Fr. Piotr, Vicar of St. James, who initiated the screening, also spoke on the occasion, saying: “A person can be denied documents. A person can be excluded from systems, from rights, from recognition. But a person can never lose their dignity - not because society grants it, but because it is already there, at the very core of who they are.”.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Jerusalem Cinematheque for their collaboration, to KTO for this meaningful documentary, and to Touma Café in the Old City for providing refreshments.
