Hannukah Explanation Evening

On Thursday (December 11th) Fr. Benny and the Jerusalem Community hosted more than fifty guests at an extraordinary event of Hannukah lecture by Rabbi Oded Peles.

Despite the cold weather and heavy rain, the Hanukkah meeting turned into a warm and joyful celebration, drawing an impressive number of guests. The atmosphere was filled with light, warmness, and the spirit of togetherness that defines this special holiday.

The highlight of the evening was a fascinating lecture by Rabbi Oded Peles, who spoke about the Feast of Hanukkah, its historical roots, and its deep spiritual significance. His words illuminated the meaning behind the festival of lights, reminding everyone of the enduring message of hope and faith that Hanukkah brings.

At the beginning of the event, Fr. Piotr Zelazko, Vicar of St. James, warmly welcomed the guests and wished them all the best for Hanukkah, emphasizing the joy of celebrating this feast together.

No Hanukkah celebration would be complete without its traditional treats, and this gathering was no exception. Guests enjoyed delicious sufganiyot (donuts), adding sweetness to the evening and reinforcing the sense of shared joy.

The evening concluded with a heartfelt prayer led by Fr. Benny, followed by the singing of the beautiful Maranatha song, leaving everyone with a sense of peace and unity.

The stunning turnout, even under challenging weather conditions, reflected the strength of community and the desire to celebrate together. It was a true testament to the light that Hanukkah brings into our lives - shining brightly even in the darkest and stormiest nights.
