Peter's Pence
In the Catholic Church, each year, towards the end of June, when the Feast of Saint Peter and Paul is celebrated, the faithful contribute from their money to the Pope's charity fund. This year, the Hebrew speaking Catholic communities also sent their contribution.

In 2006, Pope Benedict XVI gave a homily in which he explained that those who are baptized create one family of believers who are never alone. The Peter's Pence Collection unites us in solidarity to the Holy See and its works of charity to those in need.
The purpose of the Peter's Pence Collection is to provide the Holy Father with the financial means to respond with emergency assistance to those who are suffering as a result of war, oppression, natural disaster, and disease.
This year, the faithful of the Hebrew speaking Catholic communities in Israel contributed 4000 shekel top the Pope's fund, which will be delivered to the Vatican Embassy and it will be sent to Rome.
