An interesting footnote on the anti Christian graffiti
There is no doubt that the act that was carried out in the night at the Latroun monastery is horrific and criminal. However, the condemnations missed a very interesting thing. Indeed, the one who sprayed the graffiti wrote that Jesus is a monkey, something very insulting to Christians and their faith. However, he wrote “Yeshu’a” (in Hebrew – yod, shin, waw, ayin) – the true name of the man from Nazareth in Hebrew, who we believe is the Messiah of Israel and the Son of God. He did not write, as is usually the tendency in Hebrew, “Yeshu” (in Hebrew – yod, shin, waw). The community of Hebrew speaking Catholics has been trying to educate Hebrew speakers to say “Yeshu’a”, his real name, rather than “Yeshu” which is derived from centuries of anti-Christian Jewish polemics and in fact is an abbreviation of: “may his name and memory be erased”. It is interesting to ask: who is the spray painter of the graffiti? Even he has been positively influenced by the drawing closer of Jews and Christians in modern times, a fact born out by his writing of the name of Jesus correctly in Hebrew.
