Students and researchers come to Jerusalem to further their studies and research and find a spiritual home in the Jerusalem kehilla. Lonka, a member of the kehilla and student from Hungary, who has been frequenting the Jerusalem kehilla for some years now, took the initiative and invited the researchers, especially those preparing doctorates, to meet and discuss their academic labors. The researchers responded with joy.

Until today, three meetings have taken place in which the researchers presented their work. The first was Father Piotr, a priest from Poland who lives in the Vicariate community, and who is preparing a doctorate on the Book of Qohelet at the Franciscan Studium Biblicum. After him, Father Rafic, a priest of the Vicariate, presented his work on Judeo-Arabic literature from the Middle Ages as he is preparing a doctorate in this field at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The third was Benedetto,, resident in the Vicariate community, who recently completed his doctorate in comparative literature in Naples, Italy and focused in his research on the fascinating figure of Saul Tchernikovski, the Hebrew poet (1875-1943).

In the coming weeks, others will present their research too: Pier-Paolo, a member of the kehilla from Italy who is preparing a doctorate on the parables of Jesus, Andre, member of the kehilla from Canada, who has completed the writing of his doctorate on the Song of Songs at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Father Nicola, a priest from Italy resident in the Vicariate community who is researching the prophet Jeremiah at the Dominican Ecole biblique, Caroline, a member of the kehilla from France, who is a political scientist researching Middle East politics and finally, Lonka, the coordinator of the group, who is researching Midrash Song of Songs.
