Beauty of communion

Families from Nazareth support the children of Saint Rachel Center

It is the sixth year that students from the Salvatorian Sisters’ school in Nazareth participated in the project called the “Three Kings” (Dreikönigsaktion), that is borrowed from Aachen in Germany. It is a tradition sponsored by the Church in Europe, intended as “Children for children” activity: On the occasion of Christmas and New year, some students visit families, shops and institutions in order to bring joy and blessings into their homes and places, and collect donations for needy children who live in our societies all over the world. This year 70 students loved being part of this wonderful project.

The topic chosen in Germany for the year 2020 is “Peace for Lebanon”. Therefore, the Salvatorian Sisters’ school of Nazareth decided to distribute donations to two institutions in Lebanon (an orphanage and a house of care for disabled children), but they chose to keep a part of the collection for the Saint Rachel Center in Jerusalem. Sr Suneela, a Salvatorian Sisters who volunteers in the Saint Rachel Center, could bring us this week their precious donation, a consoling gift in these hard days.

We are very grateful to Sr. Mirjam Göksun, the Regional Superior of the Salvatorian Sisters, and to the Administration of the school, for choosing to support our pastoral work. We are specially touched to think that children from Nazareth, with their parents, are supporting the children of migrants and asylum seekers who stay in Jerusalem.
