Hail Mary
This prayer, also know as the Ave Maria (in Latin), is an oft repeated prayer giving honor to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Its Biblical basis is in the greeting of Archangel Gabriel to Mary in Nazareth (Luke 1:28) and the greeting of Elizabeth to Mary at the visitation (Luke 1:42).
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
