Halleluya Festival in Haifa

On a Friday afternoon, May 7, beginning at 15.00 and ending around 21.00, the 'Catholic Shalom Community' is inviting the Christians of Haifa and of all Galilee for the 'Halleluya Festival'. Members of the Shalom Community are active in the Hebrew speaking kehilla in Haifa.

This is an event that put together art, music, theater, dance, prayer and the sharing of the Word of God, especially aiming the evangelization of the youth, but not only as all generations are more than welcome. Through healthy entertainment and using artistic means the Gospel of Jesus Christ is presented in a new language according to the orientation of the Church after the Vatican II Council.

The first 'Halleluya Festival' took place in Brazil, 13 years ago in the city of Fortaleza. Through the years it became the most popular Catholic event for the Brazilian youth that gathers a large number of people. Lately the 'Halleluya Festival' happens once a year in many different big cities in Brazil and abroad, as in London and Toulon. The Shalom Community wishes this for Galilee and Israel: that it becomes an annual event of evangelization, art, entertainment and gathering for the youth and all the Christians of the Holy Land.

'Hallelyua, the Sound of Hope' is the theme of this year's Festival which  will take place downtown Haifa, across from the Catholic Melkite Cathedral of the Prophet Elias, Ein Dor Street, 23. The principal language will be Arabic.
