Last Saturday, members of kehillot in Jaffa and Jerusalem met in Ein Karem, in the Franciscan Monastery of Saint John in the Mountains for a day of retreat. The spiritual exercises in the context of the coming Easter focused on the reading and meditation of the Word of God. The conferences by Father Piotr and Father Rafic were meant to be a motivation to more intense work on the daily personal encounter with God through the reading and meditation of His Word. As usual, there was a time for silence and confessions, a time for sharing in small groups, a picnic and of course, as the central point of the day, the Eucharist in the beautiful church of John the Baptist. Many thanks to all who helped to organize the retreat, especially to Fr. Sewerin, the superior of the monastery that received us very warmly.
