Priests' meeting – November 2, 2012


The priests of the Saint James Vicariate for Hebrew speaking Catholics in Israel met on Friday, November 2, 2012, at Latroun.

Present at the meeting were eleven priests, including the priests responsible for the communities in Jerusalem, Haifa, Nazareth, Beer Sheva and Tiberias, and both priests working with the Russian-speaking communities.

The meeting began with a moment of recollection and song. This was followed by news from the different communities including reports on recent events in the different communities.

The main subjects of the meeting were:

- News from the Vicariate

- Introduction of Father Piotr Zelazko, attending the meeting for the first time

- Report on the summer activities: the three children summer camps and the youth trip to Taize,

- Publication of the new children’s catechism book on the mass

- Writing the next book, “Get to Know the History of Salvation”

- Internet site and other communication efforts

- Initiatives for the Year of Faith

- Upcoming community excursion in Galilee

- Upcoming Family Weekend

- Planning the next Central Committee meeting

Fathers Piotr and Wieslaw prepared a light lunch for those who could stay.
