Priests' meeting – June 1, 2012


The priests of the Saint James Vicariate for Hebrew speaking Catholics in Israel met on Friday, June 1, 2012, at Latroun.

Present at the meeting were ten priests, including the priests responsible for the communities in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv - Jaffa, Haifa, Nazareth and Beer Sheva, and both priests working with the Russian-speaking communities.

The meeting began with a moment of recollection and a song. This was followed by news from the different communities including reports on recent events in the different communities.

The main subjects of the meeting were:

- News from the Vicariate
- Recent events with the migrants
- Summer children’s camp
- Youth group and planned visit to Taize during the summer
- Preparing our youth for confirmation
- Milano Family Meeting and the family representing the Vicariate
- Continued work on the children's catechism books
- Communication within and among the communities
- Planned general trip of all the kehillot
- Decisions of the bishops on the date for Easter next year
- Decision of the dates for the meetings of the priests next year.

At the end of the meeting, the priests shared a delicious meal prepared by Father Wieslaw’s sister Ella.
