Priests' meeting – December 2, 2011


The priests of the Saint James Vicariate for Hebrew speaking Catholics in Israel met today, Friday, December 2, 2011, in Jerusalem.

Present at the meeting were all twelve priests, including the priests responsible for the communities in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv - Jaffa, Haifa, Nazareth, Beer Sheva and Tiberias, and both priests working with the Russian-speaking communities.

The meeting began with praying the "Our Father". This was followed by news from the different communities including reports on recent events in the different communities.

The main subjects of the meeting were:

- The transition from Father Paul to Father Gioele in Beer Sheba

- The acquisition of a small apartment for Father Roman in Haifa

- Evaluation of the last meeting with the broad committee for the kehillot

- Preparations for the family weekend in Tiberias

- Preparations for the Easter camp for children

- Report on the youth group

- Report on the third religious education book about to be published

- Report on the newsletter and the internet site.

During the meeting, the priests also celebrated the birthdays of Father Roman and Father Gioele.
