Eight children from St. Peter's Roman Catholic parish in Tiberias celebrated their First Holy Communion on Saturday evening, June 25, the feast of Corpus Christi.

The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Giuseppe, the Parish Priest, together with Fr. Simon Pierre, from the Emmanuel Community and Fr. Jeremias, from the Benedictine Community of Tabgha.

In his homily Fr. Giuseppe spoke about God's immense love that Jesus reveled to us in giving Himself in the wine and in the bread. He motivated the children to enter into this great mystery explaining these elevated concepts with simple words.

The small church was filled to capacity with community members, relatives and friends of the children who joyfully participated in the liturgy.

The celebration was followed by a communal banquet of sharing and fraternity.
