Priests decide to consecrate collection for Haiti
At their meeting on January 15, 2010, the priests of the Hebrew speaking and Russian speaking Catholic communities in Israel decided to consecrate the Sunday collection to the people of Haiti.
The shocking news of the earth quake in Haiti that has left tens of thousands of people dead and an entire country in devastation was the first item in the meeting of the priests of the Vicariate. The priests decided that it was only fitting that the Sunday collection be sent to a humanitarian agency working in Haiti to help relieve the suffering of the people there.
