Feast of the Jerusalem Kehilla

Every year, the Jerusalem kehilla celebrates the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple with special veneration. The kehilla meets in a house named for Simeon and Anne, two of the protaganists of this feast.

roman_jerusalemThis year, a special guest was welcomed by the community, the newly ordained deacon, Roman Kaminski. Roman read the Gospel and preached in Hebrew for the first time in the Jerusalem community where he had lived for many years. The mass was celebrated by another beloved friend of the kehilla, Rev. Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa OFM, the Custos of the Holy Land, who once served as the priest responsible for the Jerusalem community and personally oversaw the rennovation of the house that became its home.

We accompany Roman in our prayers as he continues his way towards priestly ordination.
