Adoration in the Hebrew speaking communities in Israel

In response to the appeal of Pope Francis, Catholics throughout the world prayed in silence together in spiritual unity with him, on Sunday, June 2, 2013, between 18.00 and 19.00.

In the kehillot the celebration this Sunday was of the Feast of Corpus Christi. In the Hebrew speaking Catholic kehillot in Israel, the time of the world wide adoration was the time of mass and therefore the different kehillot participated with the Universal Church in various ways. In the kehillot, the faithful gathered a little earlier and spent time in silence in the church. Father Gioele, responsible for the kehilla in Beer Sheba, reported: "Here, in Beer Sheba,, we had an hour of adoration before the mass. We prayed in silence with some songs. Also, during the mass, after communion, the whole parish prayed before the Blessed Sacrament still laid on the altar. We felt very deeply the communion with all the other faithful all over the world and we mentioned the intentions of the Pope. Even the little children felt the special atmosphere and for these few moments there was perfect quiet in the church".
