Trip to the Galilee and the First Communion in Tel Aviv

In May, there is the end of the catechism year with the children of the immigrants from Tel Aviv. Fr. Benny reports.

After good few months of religious classes and Masses, towards the end of the pastoral year, the Tel Aviv team organized a trip to the North to visit the places where Jesus began his mission. On first Saturday of May, about 130 people, including children and parents traveled to Nazareth, Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum and Tiberias, and everywhere they received an explanation and guidance in these holy places by the religious teachers: Luka, Dima and Fr. Benny. After a picnic lunch at Kibbutz Ginosar, everyone gathered for the Eucharist at St. Peter's Church, the place of the Hebrew Speaking Community in Tiberias.

Two weeks later, on Saturday, May 20th the children of Dima's class received their First Communion in a festive Mass held by Fr. Benny, with the participation of Fr. Santosh who came from Jerusalem specially to support the children of the Indian families who also received this sacrament for the first time.

We were happy to close such an important circle with these children and accompany them during a wider period, teaching the Christian life as disciples of Christ. All children deserve one big congratulations!
