Solemnity of All Saints and Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed


The first days of November are dedicated to celebrate the Communion of the Saints and to remember our departed ones. Here is a short summary of this year's celebrations at St. James Vicariate.


November 1st many members of the Jerusalem Community, as well as many friends from VMAS (Vicariate for Migrants and Asylum Seekers) gathered in the Co-Cathedral church of Latin Patriarchate to pray together with Maria Rodriguez that made her vows becoming a consecrated virgin. The Holy Mass was presided by HB Card. Pierbattista Pizzaballa.

On Thursday (02.11) during the solemn Eucharist, liturgical procession descended to the crypt which serves as a cemetery for priests in order to pray there.

The members of the Beer Sheva community gathered on Wednesday, November 1st, at the cemetery of the community. They lit candles and placed flowers on all the graves and prayed both for those buried at the cemetery and for those buried in cemeteries all over the world. A special prayer was held for all those murdered during the current war, on both sides. After the prayer at the cemetery, the Mass was celebrated in the parish church.

On Thursday, November 2, the community prayed for all the deceased of the congregation. Specially mentioned were those who passed away this year: Melvin (+01.04) and Susan (+14.10).


Fr. Apolinary, together with the members of the Ambassy of Poland in Israel prayed at the cemetery of soldiers. Special part of the prayer was for the victims of the war.
