Weekend of Meetings of the Youth Group

Last weekend was full of meetings that included several different groups. The time was divided into three parts - continuation of the leadership program with the young guides, preparation for the Youth Festival to be held in the summer and preparation for World Youth Day in Portugal.

Danielle reports:

The meeting took place in Deir Rafat and about 30 young people were present. On Friday, the meeting focused more on the leadership program - the main topic was the qualities that make a person a leader - how to use these qualities to lead well? Who are their examples of good leaders? And also, about the qualities and extremes that make a guide lead in a bad way.

In the evening we had a prayer of the rosary in which we saw the way of Jesus as a leader - a leader who led out of suffering, pain and weakness and not as a strong and powerful ruler. Some of the young people led the prayer of the rosary and took an active part in the prayer. The next day, the program focused more on the preparation of the Festival and the further preparation for World Youth Day in Portugal - the band that will perform at the Festival rehearsed the songs and the other groups (leading discussion groups, logistics and reception) prepared their role and practiced leading groups, wrote a short text about the youth group which they could present to the young people coming from outside, We planned the things that needed to be logistically, etc...

We ended the meeting with a repetition of WYD anthem in Portuguese together!

Thank you to everyone who took part in the preparation of the meeting and to the instructors who were present and led, to those who helped to prepare the food in the kitchen (because of course there is no weekend without meals) and of course to all the young people who came!
