End of Summer Celebration in the Jerusalem Community

As the sun set on the final day of the extended holiday season, and with the imminent return to school just around the corner, the Jerusalem community orchestrated a memorable evening - an End of Summer Party. The event was a warm invitation extended to all students, a gathering that would not only resonate as a special Mass but also as an occasion to celebrate being together.

An impressive number of children from within Jerusalem community, along with a generous participation from Tel Aviv, graced the event with their presence. The gathering was marked by a solemn Lord's Supper, underscoring the essence of unity and spiritual communion.

During the sermon, Fr. Benny eloquently underlined the value of synergy between humanity and the Divine. As recipients of the divine gift of intellect, he emphasized, we are entrusted with the responsibility to nurture the talents that have been bestowed upon us. This nurturing process, he iterated, unfolds as a journey of learning and discovery - an expedition that unravels the subsequent steps in our individual life paths.

It is noteworthy that the youthful members of the community shouldered the responsibility of leading the music during the Mass. The culmination of the Eucharist witnessed a distinct blessing ceremony for the impending school year. Taking center stage, young people recited the student's prayer at the altar (to read the prayer, please follow this link: student's prayer), receiving a heartfelt blessing and words of encouragement from Fr. Benny. The young attendees were further blessed with writing instruments, thoughtfully provided by the community, leaving an atmosphere brimming with joy and gratitude.

The occasion also prompted a collective prayer for Fr. Tiago, who, on September 1st, will officially embark on a mission within the St. James House. His mission is to delve deeper into his service within the Hebrew-speaking communities, amplifying the spiritual connections that bind us all.

After the Mass, everyone headed to the courtyard, all excited for something awesome - pizza! It was like the perfect sidekick for our fantastic and heartwarming get-together.
