Members of the Hebrew speaking Catholic youth group spent four days with Father Apolinary and Father Piotr at the Sea of Galilee. After the hard work and intense times of the summer camp for children in Deir Rafat, this meeting in Tabgha was a time to rest and restore energy. The meeting was characterized by sleeping in tents, simple food prepared outdoors by the youth themselves, a night walk of 13 kilometers, daily prayers, Holy Mass and a lot of time in the water.

The main topic of the meeting was the message of Jesus from place of the meeting, Tabgha on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, when he said to Peter “Follow me”. It is this message that the Church must transmit to the entire world. Father Roman, who visited the group, gave a talk about the meaning of this commandment. The joy and energy of the young people was not diminished by the very high temperatures that are being measured in these days in Galilee.

A few new members of the group participated for the first time in such a kind of meeting. One may say that from the very beginning they felt welcomed by the others and enjoyed the activities. We thank the Franciscan Friars of Saint Peter's Monastery in Tabgha for their hospitality.
