Desert Flower in the Negev and the Wilderness

The meeting of the youth group "Desert Flower" took place last weekend. The members of the group came on Friday afternoon to Beer Sheba. After a long walk around the city and dinner in the garden of the parish house, a night prayer in the spirit of Taize took place. The youth slept in the library, in the shelter, in the parish hall, sacristy, guest room, as well as in the living room of the parish house.

Saturday started with breakfast in the garden and after it, very early in the morning we moved towards the desert. A short hike in the area of Mount Sodom ended in success: everybody made it up to the peak of the mountain. At the summit, we divided into small groups and had a short talk about various topics connected to faith, Bible and the biblical story of Sodom.

We came back to the cars and headed towards the Dead Sea. After a picnic lunch, there was time to get into the water. Most of the youth had to go back home from there. A few members of the group did participate in the evening mass in Beer Sheba.
