Two youth meetings in Tel Aviv

Conversion, sharing and love

With the lifting of lockdown Mid-February, we were finally able to resume our youth meetings. After a Christmas break that lasted longer than expected, we were relieved to meet again to celebrate together Valentine's Day and the start of the season of Lent.

We interwove both subjects reflecting on the past year and sharing where we experienced love from our families and friends. At the same time, we were looking forward to the season of Lent and the love that Jesus has given to us by giving himself for us and our sins. In this first meeting, we reflected on the different ideas of love - we even sang together a love song by Ed Sheeran - and we spoke about the unconditional love we receive when opening up to Jesus. We encouraged the youth to strengthen their bond with Jesus in this time of Lent by prayer and reading of the Daily Gospel.

Our following meeting was dedicated to the needy and sharing with them unconditionally the little things we have. Everyone in the group brought from home some things to hand out (tooth brushes, tooth paste, socks, masks, food ...); we put things together, prepared care packages with little notes from us, and distributed them in South Tel Aviv to the homeless. We experienced together the joy of sharing and the happiness one receives when being generous.
