Memorial Day for the Fallen

On Monday, May 9, 2011, those who have fallen in the wars in Israel are remembered. In our kehillot, we remember the dead, the bereaved families and we pray ever more strongly for peace: “they shall beat their swords into plow-shares, and their spears into sickles: nation shall not take up sword against nation, neither shall they learn to war anymore” (Isaiah 2:4).
