Middle East Synod: Guidelines

In October 2010, a special Synod will be convened in Rome for the Middle East. The Synod will bring together the heads of the Catholic Church in the Middle East together with representatives of the different strata and groups in order to discuss the state of the Church and her future. The general theme of the Synod is "Unity and Witness" and the guiding verse is: " Now the company of those who believed were of one heart and soul" (Acts 4:32).

We publish here the links to the Lineamenta which defines the general principles of the Synod. It includes a series of questions which will be answered by the Churches and sent to Rome. These responses will help formulate the Instrumentum laboris which will define the organization of the Synod and which the Pope will give to the heads of the Churches during his visit to Cyprus in June.
