A Visit to Nir Oz

On Monday, January 8, I joined the Israel Religious Leaders Forum group for a visit to Kibbutz Nir Oz.

By Rev. Roman Kaminski

I wanted, personally, to visit one of the kibbutzim because I have a friend who used to live in Kibbutz Kfar Gaza. She and her family were saved from the attack on Saturday, October 7th. I could not participate in the visit to the same Kibbutz Kfar Gaza that was organized in December. So I wanted to come to Kibbutz Nir Oz to understand a little what my friend and her family and all the people in Otef went through on the day of this terrible attack and to empathize with their suffering.

I thank the members of the Israel Religious Leaders Forum for the opportunity to join their visit to the kibbutz.

This visit was impressive, an experience that everyone should experience. The group of clergy created a very beautiful and pleasant atmosphere that helped pass the experience in a good spirit. The guide, a former kibbutz member, who guided us, was also very good and interesting.

After the visit to the Kibbutz, the group gathered at the Rahat Center to share the special experience of visiting Kibbutz Nir Oz and to discuss in general the situation in the country, religious organizations and the need for the clergy in Israel to have a positive, clear and strong influence on the complex population of Israeli society.
