A colorful celebration in Jaffa on Saturday August 17, 2019


The Catholic Indians in Israel celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of Mary and the Indian Independence Day.

The Indian Chaplaincy organized a Holy Mass in Konkani and a Cultural Program to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary and the 73rd Independence Day of India on Saturday, August 17, 2019 in the hall of Terra Santa school in Jaffa. The main celebrant of the Holy Mass was Rev. Fr. Dharma Pitchai OFM and the con-concelebrant was Fr. Rafic Nahra, the patriarchal vicar for migrants and asylum seekers. It was followed by a short cultural program and a fellowship meal. About 500 people participated in the celebration.
