State President: We must not deport the children


The moment is drawing closer when the decision to deport more than 400 children of migrant workers in Israel is to be carried out. Support of the children is growing and yesterday the State President expressed his opposition to the deportation.

Many public figures, including intellectuals, ministers and members of Knesset, are raising their voices in order to protest the expected deportation of hundreds of children of migrant workers from the country. Yesterday, the State President Shimon Peres expressed his opinion on the subject: "Concerning the 400 children born in the country, who speak Hebrew, feel like Israelis, to deport them is inconceivable. My opinion is unequivocal: these 400 children must remain in Israel!" (translated frrom original Hebrew).
