Resignation of Archbishop Elias Chacour
On Monday, January 27, 2014, the Holy Father Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Elias Chacour, Greek Catholic Archbishop of the Galilee diocese.
Chacour has served as Greek Catholic Archbishop since 2006. At the same time, the Holy Father appointed Archbishop Moussa al-Hage, the Maronite Archbishop, Apostolic Administrator of the Greek Catholic diocese until a successor is named.
