Feast of St. James in Jerusalem Kehilla

The Solemnity of St. James the Apostle, the Patron of the Vicariate was celebrated in Jerusalem Kehilla, together with fr. Piotr.

On Sunday, May 8, five days after the liturgical holiday of Jacob the Apostle, patron of our mission, the Jerusalem community invited Father Piotr to hold the Lord's Supper in a modest and happy atmosphere. Along with six other priests, Fr. Piotr led the prayer and in his sermon the head of the Vicariate noted the importance of the existence of our small body inside the universal church and of the testimony that we are called to testify. He also emphasized the centrality of listening to God's Word, and taking time each day to read and internalize it in order to discern what is God's Will for us and then, based on that, to build the community we are in.

Fr. Natale, the Secretary of the Vatican Embassy in Israel attended his first Mass in Hebrew language. He recently started learning Hebrew and we hope that this was not the last time that he visits our community.

After the Mass took place the refreshment, as it was our custom and during it people continued to celebrate together and to get to know the visiting guests from different places.
