Prayer – How and why do we pray?

WE of families in Tiberias

On May 10th-11th, families of the Hebrew speaking Catholic communities met for a shared weekend in Tiberias, generously hosted by the Koinonia community. We opened the time together with an “ice-breaking” game in which children and young people participated, and an exchange of news. After dinner we met in the church for a talk and exercise in lectio divina. The next day we continued to explore the subject of prayer: a talk and discussion groups on prayer in our lives and our families, and a talk and discussion on prayer in times of difficulty and prayer of thanksgiving. In the evening we were glad to participate in the Tiberias community Mass, and then we each went our separate ways…but with the joyous knowledge that we would meet again in less than a week for Benny’s ordination!
