Personal Responsibility and Social Pressure

The two youth groups of the Saint James Vicariate, aged 14-16 and 17-25, met in Tantur on February 21-22, took time to pray, listened to the personal testimony of Fr Alberto OFM, shared, and could meet Br Emil from Taizé.

On February 21-22, 2020, both youth groups of the Saint James Vicariate met together in Tantur. The topic of the meeting was "Personal Responsibility and Social Pressure". On Friday, after the introductory meeting and dinner, fr. Alberto Pari gave a testimony of his life and vocation. In the late evening hours, Taizé prayer took place.

Saturday started with a short meditation and, after breakfast, the group was divided into three small groups. Each one had a meeting with a different priest. The summary at the end of the meeting started with a short presentation, prepared by one of the groups, in a form of theater.

Fr. Rafic celebrated the Holy Mass during which br. Emil from Taizé was present. He addressed few words to the group mentioning the will to organize a big meeting for the youth in Taizé style in Israel and Palestine next year.

At the end of the Eucharist, Grant, one of the youths, received a blessing for the beginning of his army service. Many thanks to Tantur management for the possibility to organize the weekend with the youth group in their house.
