Interreligious Prayer For Peace in Tel Aviv

A Peace event: "It's time to give peace another chance" took place in Tel Aviv on Monday (01.07). Fr. Piotr, the Vicar of St. James was invited to pray for peace during the event that was a joint project of a number of well-known Israeli nonprofits and NGO's representing all corners of Israel’s left, ranging from older, established groups like Peace Now to more recently founded movements such as Standing Together.

On Monday (01.07) thousands of Israelis gathered at Tel Aviv's Menora Mivtachim Arena to an event called "It's Time: The Great Peace Conference." The rally was coordinated by a coalition of many organizations and individuals from Israel’s left-leaning and pro-peace factions. The central message displayed on the arena’s LED screens was: "It’s time to achieve an agreement, put an end to the conflict, and establish peace."

Among the participants were Noa (Achinoam Mini), Prof. Yuval Harari, Maon Inon, Sha'anan Streett (HaDag Nahash), and many peace activists as well as families of killed soldiers and hostages and the families of the 07.10 victims.

Fr. Piotr together with Jewish and Muslim religious leaders prayed for peace. His prayer finished with the singing of Our Father in Hebrew.
