The Tower of David Forum of Religious Leaders

Yehuda reports:
The group began to study together the topic of repentance.
Fr. Piotr began by presenting the Christian angle. Here are some of the main points: repentance is the introduction of God into life. Basically: repentance in the sense of responding to God's love for me. This is not only about those who were previously unbelievers, but also about those for whom it was less important before. From another direction: returning to the state of a baby who was born and has not yet sinned, and all he does is to give honor to God, to sing to him.
God speaks to man through the beauty of nature and art, through people, through history and through the Holy Scriptures.
The closer a person gets to God, the more sins he sees. Parable of a garment - when it is far from the light, you don't see many stains, but the more light there is, the more stains you see.
In prayer you not only talk to God but also listen to him.
There was a development in the Catholic Church: it is not enough to testify with the mouth and declare that Jesus is the Messiah, but it is also necessary to testify to it in life.
And there is a difference regarding repentance: the one who declared that he is not a Muslim - must also declare the Shahada and observe the commandments.
Repentance is mainly the desire to get closer to God - when man walks one step, God walks towards him 99 steps. Man walks - God runs.
