Interreligious Panel During the Open Day in Hartman


On Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 (the second day of Hannukah Feast) Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem organized the Open Day during which a program called: "A Common Society: Between Reality and Vision" hosted an interreligious panel in which fr. Piotr from St. James Vicariate took part.


"Spots of Light" - the sessions with the participation of Hartman Institute researchers and leading public figures gathered few dozens of listeners. One of the meetings with the topic: Religion as a Point of Rupture and as an Opportunity for Connection was an interreligious panel discussion.

The meeting, led by Dr. Renana Ravitzky Pilzer, hosted Marzouk Al-Halbi Sofer - journalist, poet and cultural critic, Rabbi David Goodman - Rabbi of the traditional community Abraham's Legacy, and Fr. Piotr Zelazko, head of the Hebrew-Speaking Catholic Church in Israel.

The discussion the role of religion as a divisive factor or rather a platform for reconciliation in Israeli society was accompanied by some lectures from Jewish, Christian and Muslim sources and finished with questions from the public
