The little explorers discover a miniature world
Backpack on the shoulder, hat on the head and, in the eyes, a great desire to discover and have fun. So, Monday morning, 49 children of the Saint Rachel Center were present at the entrance gates of the Botanical Garden of the city of Jerusalem, where - for the summer period - Playmobile installations are hosted, dedicated to the little children. Guided and accompanied by 12 young volunteers, with Fr. Roman and Sr. Claudia, our budding explorers played on pirate galleons, among Indian tents, in fairytale castles and inside the mines of the legendary Far West. In some locations they were also able to turn into skilled doctors and firemen, or even go koala hunting, like real Australian adventurers. After three exciting hours, a packed lunch for all together (with some crumbs generously offered to the darting fish in the park's pond) and then return to the Center for the afternoon activities. Tired of course ... but so happy.
We thank in particular Miriam who booked this special visit for us: without her help and her organizational skills we could never have gone.
