Happy and blessed New Year

“May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us and establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.” (Psalm 90: 17)

In the name of the St James Vicariate for Hebrew-speaking Catholics in Israel, we wish all the Jewish people in Israel and the world a good and blessed New Year.
These days are days of penitential prayer (slihot), of fear of God and of teshuva, but also days of joy, hope and thanksgiving to the Creator of the universe. In this new
year may we all know to repair and not to destroy, to bring hearts closer together and not divide them, to increase trust among us, to conquer fear and doubt, to build a
good society which embraces all its members.
