Bat Kol Institute - experiencing Jewish learning
“Bat Kol Institute for Jewish Studies” (founded in 1983) is a non-profit, international, ecumenical institution founded in response to Vatican II (Nostra Aetate), and subsequent explanatory documents (Guidelines ‘75; Notes '85) as a Center of Jewish Studies for Christians, in the heart of Jerusalem.

"Because of the unique relations that exist between Christianity and Judaism—'linked together at the very level of their identity…the Jews and Judaism should not occupy an occasional and marginal place in catechesis: their presence there is an essential and should be organically integrated” (Notes ’85, I.2). Each July one of the first five books of the Bible is studied from different perspectives: Talmudic, midrashic, and modern exegetical with a combined staff of Jewish and Christian professors. In 2013 the topic is the Book of Leviticus. Graduate credit is granted to students registered at home universities. For more information see: www.batkol.info .
