Roman Kaminski, a Polish seminarian, who is studying for the priesthood within the Hebrew-speaking Catholic Vicariate in Israel, has returned to Israel after a year in Italy. We wish him well and we accompany him with our prayers as he proceeds towards ordination, first as a deacon and then as a priest. He wrote us a few words on his experience abroad. On June 28 2008, the eve of the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, Father Gregor Pawlowski celebrated his Golden Jubilee (50 years) of priestly service in the church of Saint Peter in Jaffa.

On June 4, 2008, in the auditorium of Haifa University, in a moving ceremony, seven prominent personalities received honorary doctorates from the President and Rector of the University. Among them was our very own Brother Yohanan.

On Sunday, June 1, 2008, Patriarch Michel Sabbah celebrated a final mass at the Jerusalem Hebrew-speaking Catholic community and bade farewell to the faithful of the Hebrew-speaking Catholic Vicariate in Israel. In his word to the Patriarch, the Vicar for the Hebrew-speaking Catholics in Israel, Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, reminded all that Michel Sabbah was the first Patriarch of Jerusalem who celebrated mass in Hebrew.
