D. : To travel with the Society for the Preservation of Nature

D. from the Jaffa community has sent us a glowing report of the wonderful trips organized by the Israeli Society for the Preservation of Nature.

Recently, I have been participating in the trips around the country organized by the Society for the Preservation of Nature. I want to point out that I return home exhausted from these trips (the ones for those who like to walk). Especially from the last trip, I returned with many blisters on my feet and bruises on my knees from climbing mountains and huge boulders. However, the experience of travelling the Holy Land and seeing the incredible panoramas that are thousands of years old, all the way back to the days of Genesis, is really worth the effort.

In the pamphlet of the Society, I came across a very blessed phenomenon: these are trips called "The Way of the Gospel", a series of trips along the way of Jesus. For example, this month the trip is to Mount Tabor and a visit to the church there. Perhaps it is worthwhile to let our communities know about the internet site that publicizes these trips.

(Indeed, on p. 17 of the pamphlet "Yarok" of the Society, the following advertisement appears: "The Way of the Gospel: a series of walks along the path of Jesus, for those who like walking", and this month: "Tabor through the eyes of Jesus. Mount Tabor has special charm and is surrounded by enchanting panoramas that have historical importance. We will ascend through the wild bushes, to the top of the mountain. We will visit the Church of the Transfiguration and get to know the precincts sacred to Christians.)
