Mirjam van Reisen, Meron Estefanos and Conny Rijken have published a detailed report on human trafficking in Sinai, entitled: “Human Trafficking in the Sinai: Refugees between Life and Death”. The 120 page document is based upon over one hundred interviews with those who have survived the torture camps in Sinai, where African refugees are held for ransom. The researchers hope that the publication of the document gives the refugees a voice and raises awareness about the abominable situation in the camps and the ongoing suffering of the victims.
