Bishop Jean-Baptiste Gourion OSB was ordained on November 11, 2003 in the Basilica of Our Lady Ark of the Covenant in Kiryat Yearim. It was an historic moment for the Hebrew speaking Catholic community in Israel, which he had served as Patriarchal Vicar since 1990. At the end of the ordination ceremony, in his thanksgiving speech, he addressed the faithful in Hebrew in the words that can be heard on this sound clip. Bishop Jean-Baptiste died in June 2005.
