Three kings in the Jerusalem kehilla

A French tradition that has taken root in the Jerusalem kehilla was celebrated after mass on the Feast of the Epiphany on Sunday, January 4, 2015 in the Jerusalem kehilla.

The tradition is focused on a delicious cake and hidden within it a small clay figure of a king – representing one of the three wise men/kings who came from the East following the star to Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Three such cakes were presented to the members of the kehilla who gathered after mass on the feast and three who bit into their piece of cake and found the three kings were crowned – Adam, Mary Angel and Sister Anne-Marie.
