Pope arrives in Jordan


On Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 13.00 the Pope arrived in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The Pope was received at the airport by Prince Ghazi and then made his way to the royal palace where he was received by King Abdullah and Queen Rania.

Later in the day, the Pope celebrated mass in the presence of over 40 000 Christians. Among them hundreds of children who were to receive first communion.

Thereafter, the Pope was to go to the baptism site on the Jordanian side of the border where he would meet refugees from Syria and Iraq and handicapped youth.
