Tag Meir in Jerusalem
Tag Meir (Light tag), an organization that fights again Tag Mehir (Price tag) attacks, held a demonstration outside the Prime Minister’s residence in Jerusalem on Sunday, May 11, 2014.
About four hundred Jews and Arabs gathered to protest the “price tag” attacks that have been directed against Christian and Muslim sites and against the property of Arabs. Rabbi Benny Lau said at the demonstration: “Price tag is not just those who puncture, burn and engrave, it is also many who keep silent, ordinary people. Price tag is also those who do not stand up and protest. Price tag is not left. Price tag is not right. Price tag is life under threat right here at home”.
The demonstration was organized by Tag Meir (Light tag), a coalition of organizations that fights racism. The protesters carried signs that said “Price tag is terrorism”, “Racism shouts, the government is silent” and “Price tag is not my Judaism”.
